BOA Congress 2025 – ACC, Liverpool
The NJR will again have a significant presence at this year’s British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Annual Congress, which takes place from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 September 2025 in the ACC, Liverpool, with the theme of ‘Preventing Harm & Transforming Lives ‘.
Our presence at the event is planned to showcase the value of our work in enhancing patient safety and improving surgical outcomes year-on-year. The NJR plenery session will be delivered in Room 3B on Wednesday 17 Sept, early-morning from 8:30 to 10:00am. If you are attending the event, please do join us for breakfast rolls before the session, to celebrate the subsequent launch of the 22nd NJR Annual Report.
This will be followed by plenary presentations on a range of topics, including a focus on developments in what data the NJR measures and how, and what we can learn from implants no longer in use or withdrawn; as well as presentations on some of the latest research using NJR data. We are grateful to the patients who consent to having their data added to the registry, which provides the research community with this valuable data pool.
We will also have an information stand (Stand 68), manned each day of congress for visitors to join us to ask questions about our latest developments in audit outcomes and how trainees surgeons have supported this work. Visitors can also find out more about the newly developed NJR patient decision-support tool for shoulders. We will also have demonstrations of the NJR Scanning Tool, devised to provide greater safety in theatre.
Visitors will find our friendly compliance officers on the stand, providing a helpful source of information and enabling the provision of hands-on support on the best ways to navigate surgeon clinician feedback, and the recently released CLR and SLR reports, all within our reporting system, NJR Connect – Data Services.
