Records Management
New functionality has been introduced to NJR Connect – Data Services:
HDM, HDE and Procurement & Finance users will have access to a new tile – Records Management.

If you cover more than site or have more than one user role, you will be asked to select both site and role, having clicked on the tile.

If you have only one user role on one site, you will be taken straight to the ‘Records Management’ dashboard, as below.

Amend existing records (available to HDM and HDE users)
This option allows you to search for, and edit, a previously submitted record. Users can search for MDSv2 to MDSv8 records (MDSv1 records will be added shortly) but you will be able to edit MDSv7 and MDSv8 records only. If any record prior to MDSv7 requires editing, you will still need to contact the NJR Service Desk.
You must complete at least one of the following options to enable the ‘Search’ button:
- Patient surname
- Patient first name
- Date of birth from
- Date of birth to Local patient identifier
- NJR ID
The results table will display the following fields:
- NJR ID
- Surname
- Forename(s)
- Date of birth
- NHS number or National patient identifier
- Joint
- Side
- Procedure type
- Operation date
- Submission date
- MDS version
If the record is MDSv7 or MDSv8, the ‘Amend’ button in the final column will be enabled to allow you to put the record back into the ‘Edit Stack’ to view, amend and re-submit.
Incomplete records (available to HDM and HDE users only)
This option allows you to search all records currently in the Edit Stack. You may search for records on a specific date, or date range, or for a specific Consultant- in- Charge. If the records returned have any missing data, the final column will display which sections require attention e.g. Patient details. Downloading the information to a csv file will provide you with the missing fields in each section e.g. Patient details – BMI.
Search & Download (available to HDM, HDE and Procurement users)
This option allows you to search all MDSv2 to MDSv8 procedures (MDSv1 will be added in mid-May), with the ability to refine the search by date, joint type, procedure type, implant, and Consultant- in- Charge.

RO procedure type and ‘Lead Surgeon’ and ‘Either Consultant in Charge or Lead Surgeon or both’ options are available to an HDM user only.
For HDE and Procurement users, the results for primary and revision procedures are provided at a summary level, by implants used.
HDMs also have the option to download results at a record level and can choose to include additional procedure information and/or implant information.
If you need further assistance to find a previous procedure, please contact the NJR Service Desk by email at enquiries@njrcentre.org.uk
