New NJR data collection forms for megaprosthsis procedures

We have recently developed a new suite of three ‘M’ data collection forms to support the accurate capture of data for megaprosthesis procedures. The new forms are available online today, 29 January 2026.

These forms have been created to reflect various clinical scenarios and therefore the form to use for each should be selected carefully to ensure submission of the correct data.

Overview of new M forms

The three new megaprosthesis-specific forms can be accessed by going to the same NJR Centre website resource page as for all our other NJR Data Collection forms (MDSv8).

The forms cover the collection of data for the procedures outlined below:

• M1: Primary megaprosthesis in a native joint.
• M2: Revision of an existing megaprosthesis to another megaprosthesis.
• MS: Revision of a conventional joint replacement to a megaprosthesis.

The choice of form will also be dependent on the individual patient’s implant history as well as the procedure being undertaken. You can find more information about the forms and how to use them, on our website here.
