We are driven to achieve our goals, objectives and work priorities, which are determined by our Strategic Planning process, to ensure these continually support the improvement of joint replacement surgery and enhance patient safety.

We are currently in the process of developing our Strategic Plan for the next five years, 2026-2031 with a root-and-branch review involving key NJR stakeholders, including patients, to look ahead at potential work opportunities, partnerships and aspirations for our ‘registry of the future’.

Therefore, we are extending the current NJR Strategic Plan 2022-2025 until the end of this year, to 31 December 2025, pending approval of the new 5-year plan by the NJR Board in January 2026.

Our current plan 2022-25 identifies a number of strategic pillars and supporting themes, alongside the wide range of work programmes that we are conducting to support our activity for the delivery of the objectives and goals based upon those themes.

The broad areas covered in the current plan are:

Stakeholder engagement and communication
Enabling access to data and information
Key partnerships and international collaboration
Robust operating model and governance

The NJR Strategic Plan is supported and delivered by our annual work plans, which are developed to detail the work required to realise the strategy on an operational level and are based on priorities and budgets set by our NJR Board. Following review and approval by the Board, the progress of the deliverables of each Annual Plan is monitored and reported by the NJR Board on a quarterly basis.
