NJR Vice-Chair to address 2012 Hip Replacements Conference on QIPP
5 October 2011
National Joint Registry Steering Committee Vice-Chair Professor Paul Gregg is to address the third National Conference on Hip Replacements in London next February at the Mayfair Conference Centre, London.
Professor Gregg - a consultant orthopaedic surgeon - will discuss reducing the revision burden and how NJR data can deliver the Quality, Innovation, Productivity, Prevention agenda (QIPP). The NJR has also negotiated a 15% discount to delegates who quote the NJR reference code HCUK15njr when booking.
The one-day conference takes place on Thursday 22 February 2012 and aims to 'provide important updates on meeting the quality and productivity challenge for hip replacements, with a focus on reducing length of stay and improving the care pathway'.
"As a forum dedicated to sharing clinical excellence to improve the outcome and experience for any patient in need of a hip replacement we are delighted to be involved in this event," said NJR Lead Elaine Young. "Our 8th Annual Report, launched at the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Conference in September this year, now contains over one million records and provides seven years of data and trends to inform best practice in the profession, which we believe is invaluable to delivering QIPP."
Chaired by BOA President Professor Joe Dias, the conference also includes sessions on:
- Patient's perspective on hip replacement
- Ensuring productivity and length of stayPanel debate: does early discharge lead to increased readmission?
- Measuring and monitoring patient outcomes in real time and long term
