NJR launches new consultant-level report to support appraisal and revalidation
12 June 2014
The National Joint Registry for England, Wales and Northern Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of a new, standard consultant-level report to assist consultant orthopaedic surgeons in appraisal and revalidation. The report captures relevant NJR information over 12 and 36 months and provides analysis over the lifetime of the registry (2003-2014).
This new report is available through NJR Clinician Feedback and can be downloaded in PDF format. Clinician Feedback is a bespoke website service that enables surgeons to view NJR data and indicators about procedures that have been recorded in their name and analyse this information within the context of hospital and national benchmarks. Other developments to NJR Clinician Feedback this month include improved Funnel plot displays.
NJR Director of operations Elaine Young said: “This new consultant-level report is another tool available to surgeons who wish to review their clinical practice and has been designed especially for the appraisal and revalidation process. We encourage its widespread use as a tool for improvement and for the validation of surgeon-level data in the NJR.”
“It’s a real example of how the NJR has become a professional asset and feedback so far has been positive. This report is sure to developed in the future.”
NJR Clinician Feedback is available only to those orthopaedic surgeons in England, Wales and Northern Ireland who undertake hip and knee replacement surgery, have submitted data to the NJR, and are registered NJR users. To find out more or to register please click here >
