NJR regional event round up: Cardiff
On 10 February 2016 the NJR held its first regional event of 2016 Cardiff City Stadium, Wales, on supporting data quality in the National Joint Registry. The regional event attracted over 100 delegates who work in all sorts of orthopaedic related hospital roles.
The action packed programme included presentations on the latest research using NJR data, local case studies and shared practice sessions. The local case study session was particularly well received with an honest and candid discussion about being identified as an outlying hospital and how consultants can analyse NJR data, which in turn supports local decisions for change.
The patient’s perspective continues to be a key session at all NJR regional events. Mary Cowern, Arthritis Care Wales director and former NJR patient representative, delivered a fascinating presentation posing the question ‘what do patients want from the NJR?’ which engaged delegates in a lively discussion on this issue.
