Presentations from the NJR Session at BOA Congress – Birmingham, 18 September 2024

During the recent NJR session at BOA Congress, there was a opening focus on the value of the reporting tools within our online system, that provide clinicians with downloadable dynamic reports to enable understanding of their surgical outcomes; a talk on the learnings of our NJR Surgical Performance Committee over the years, with a featured presentation on how to turn things around if identified as a surgeon outlier.  
Presentations on the NJR’s supported research programme focused on the value of the NJR’s rich data pool and our strategy to help to promote an academic workforce, with a selection of short presentations on research papers published during the past year, providing the insight to support the orthopaedic sector to aim for best practice methodology; as well as a talk on how our work with data teams in hospitals is constantlyimproving the quality of the data through our stringent data quality audit processes. We also heard the patients’ perspective on the ongoing impact on surgery waiting times of the COVID years.
