The NJR requests that where joint surgery has taken place during the year 2024, all orthopaedic teams in both NHS and independent sector hospitals enter procedure details into the registry data entry system by Friday 28 February 2025.
We also ask that hospitals review their surgical caseload for this period to ensure that any missed cases are entered retrospectively onto the registry, also by 28 February 2025.
Having all data submitted by the closing date will allow for the complete analysis of data from 2024 for our next NJR Annual Report. This will enable the whole orthopaedic community to continue to contribute to the continual improvement of patient outcomes. In addition, the completeness of the data submitted makes the NJR Annual Clinical Reports for your hospital and the Consultant Level Reports each year of much greater value for the purposes of appraisal.
Submitting data in the timeline proposed also complies with the increased vigilance of implanted devices engendered by the Cumberledge report and the newly developing Outcomes Registries Programme.
